In 2005, Council introduced a new category
into the Citizenship Awards to recognise the contributions made by individuals,
businesses or organisations in improving access for the whole
community.
2006 Award :
Amber Figura,
from the local organisation Recreation Rendezvous, was awarded the 2006
Citizenship Award in the category of Access and Disability. Amber has been
assisting people with disabilities for over 6 years to access leisure and
recreational opportunities. The award was presented at Council's Citizenship
Awards Night on 3rd May 2006.
