Community Grants Program

New funding opportunity for local community groups

Lane Cove community groups are invited to apply for funding through the ClubGRANTS program. ClubGRANTS is a community development funding program sponsored by our local clubs with administration assisted by Council. The scheme enables registered clubs with an annual gaming machine revenue exceeding $1million, to apply 1.85% of their gaming machine revenue to community development and support projects.

Council has recently been advised of the opportunity for local community groups in the local area to receive funding through the Category 1 Funding of the ClubGRANTS grants program.

ClubGRANTS Category 1 is for expenditure on projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people. Specific projects and/or service expenditure areas are:

  • Community welfare or social services,

  • Community development

  • Community health services

  • Employment assistance activities

This is the first time that the Lane Cove community has had the opportunity to participate in the ClubGRANTS program.  The inaugural funding round will be for small grants that support the local community.

Local groups are to apply via the ClubGRANTS portal by 5:00pm Wednesday 5 August 2020.

The ClubGRANTS scheme is focused on supporting community organisations and activities within a club's local area. Although applicants from outside ClubGRANTS Council areas can apply under the ClubGRANTS Guidelines, preference is typically given to local applicants.
