The 2066 Litter Challenge

1 – 31 July, everyone is encouraged to get involved

Council is supporting 'Plastic Free July' through the 'The 2066 Litter Challenge'. The challenge involves removing more than 2,066 pieces of litter from the Lane Cove area throughout July.

Residents are encouraged to pick up litter and count how many items they have removed, then log your count online to be in the running for prizes.

We would love to share any 'before and after' images of the area you cleaned, or images of litter collected, to inspire others to make a difference too. Please post before and afters on Instagram with #2066LitterChallenge and tag @lanecovecouncil or email your photos to comms@lanecove.nsw.gov.au.

For more information and to get started visit www.lanecove.nsw.gov.au/litterchallenge

Digital Literacy Course

One of the biggest misconceptions is that people over 60 are out of touch with technology. The truth is, with some personalised assistance to get started, many people over 60 are getting real benefits from joining the "digital world", including finding new friendships, building a support network, learning new things and having fun!

This TAFE NSW Digital Literacy course is designed to increase the confidence, skills and online safety for seniors who have little or no experience with digital technology.

The free seven-week course will cover:

  • Getting to know your device
  • Getting started online:
  • Online skills
  • Connecting with others
  • Social media
  • Online interests
