Coping with Climate Change Series
If the prospect of climate change makes you stressed, anxious or depressed, you aren't alone. The climate crisis can cause a feeling of impending doom for many and it's important to know how to take care of yourself and your mental wellbeing. The Coping with Climate Change series aims to equip Lane Cove participants with the mental tools needed to work through emotional and thought barriers, so you can continue to be motivated and take meaningful action.
The free sessions provided by Council are facilitated by Victoria Walker, an environmental educator with more than a decade's experience in sustainability education. The sessions include a mixture of teaching, information, large and small group discussions and self-reflection. Each session can be attended as a stand-alone experience, or you can register for two or more sessions.
The sessions are interactive it's important to have a working camera and microphone to get the most out of each topic.

Did you know that more than 18.3 million Aussies have spent 36 million hours helping protect our environment on Clean Up Australia Day over the years!? Get involved with Lane Cove Council’s popular HarbourCare program whilst contributing to the huge country-wide efforts of Clean Up Australia Day this March.
This event will see us clean up creeks, parks, mangroves and bushland, all while enjoying a beautiful bushwalk. Clean-ups are a great way to bring the community together, raise awareness, and start the conversation about reducing litter at the source.

Waterbug Blitz
Grab a dip net
and magnifying glass and join in the Water Bug Blitz to discover which aquatic
creatures are living in our creeks! These tiny creatures are great indicators
of waterway health, so any water bugs you collect will provide useful information

Wisdom in Focus Photography Exhibition
Photographers of all abilities are encouraged to submit photos of people over the age of 55.
This is an opportunity for photographers to capture older people’s stories and experiences in a positive way.
Anyone considering entering is urged to submit entries before the closing date of Monday 22 March 2021.
Entries will be displayed online between Thursday 1 April – Friday 30 April 2021 to celebrate NSW Seniors Festival.
There will be a People’s Choice Award.
