Lane Cove Comprehensive Development Control Plan

Lane Cove Council has prepared a Draft Comprehensive Development Control Plan (DCP) that details controls and provides guidelines for land use planning and development. Public exhibition of the Draft DCP was undertaken from 10 July 2009 to 21 August 2009.

The DCP was adopted for finalisation by Council at its Ordinary Meeting on Monday 19 October 2009.

The CDCP has been developed over the past year to support the Comprehensive Local Environmental Plan (currently DLEP 2008), in providing for development which will satisfy the requirements of the Department of Planning’s Metropolitan Strategy for Sydney and Draft Inner North Subregional Strategy to achieve their residential and employment targets.

The Draft DCP has been prepared as a joint project by Council staff and independent consultants.

The Comprehensive LEP was submited to the Department of Planning in September 2008 seeking the Minster's signature. Gazettal of the LEP would then occur, and an informal agreement has been given by the Department that the LEP's gazettal date would be timed to coincide with the date when the DCP takes effect, which is to be the day of its advertisement in a local newspaprer (the North Shore Times).
