Council recently consulted with the community on a policy and registration system which requires commercial dog walkers to register with Council and comply with certain conditions in order to operate their business on public land.

A draft policy was been prepared, which set out conditions for the use of its parks and reserves by commercial dog walking businesses. It outlined a registration system whereby commercial dog walkers must register with Council, provide a copy of their public liability insurance and then comply with certain conditions.
