Background

Meriton Property Services Pty Ltd have a Concept Approval from the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure for a mixed uses development for 150 Epping Road, Lane Cove (former Shell Service Centre site) which includes approximately 400 residential apartments and community and retail floor space, a child care centre and approximately 596 parking spaces. It requires that they enter into a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) with Lane Cove Council in relation to the Development Application.

Overview

The proposal requires that Meriton dedicate land and pay a monetary contribution to Council to cover the cost of a number of public works and facilities outside of any Development Application for the site. This includes the dedication of bushland and the provision of public works and facilities including improvements to public infrastructure in the Lane Cove area. Council consulted with the community about the proposed public works and facilities included in the proposal, giving individuals an opportunity to have their say on the proposed VPA for 150 Epping Road.
