Overview

A concept design for the new pocket park at 552 Mowbray Road was presented to the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Monday 18 November 2019 and subsequently endorsed for public consultation.  Council also resolved to submitted the name Djanaba Nura as the suggested name to the Geographical Names Board for consideration.

This small park will provide space for passive activities such as seating, a small area for play incorporating a nature-based theme and interactive play sculpture, and a BBQ with accessible seating at the top of the park. Providing a space for play, solitude and small family BBQ’s.

Park Name

The name Djanaba Nura has been suggested, which in the Cammeraygal language translates to Laughter Place.  This will be submitted to the Geographical Names Board for consideration and if approved, a further call for submissions will be held.
