Have Your Say! Join a Council Advisory Committee

‚ÄčCouncil convenes and supports a number of advisory committees and is calling for members of the Lane Cove community to become involved as Community or Local Business Representatives.  Advisory Committees consider and advise on a wide range of local issues by providing a discussion forum for Council representatives, local stakeholders and community members.

Nominations are now open for Community Representatives on the following Committees:

  • The Public Art Advisory Committee
  • The Recreation Precinct Liaison Advisory Committee

The Public Art Advisory Committee provides Council with expert advice and guidance on the ongoing development and implementation of the Lane Cove Council Public Art Policy in relation to development projects, including public art commissions.

The Recreation Precinct Liaison Advisory Committee has been established to advise Council on the planning and development of a Recreation Precinct on the existing site of the Lane Cove Country Club and tennis facility on River Road, Lane Cove Council.

Council is also inviting nominations for Local Business Representatives for the:

  • Sustainability Advisory Committee (open to representatives of local businesses with a focus on sustainable business practices and principles); and

  • Bicycle Advisory Committee (open to local bicycle-related business representatives to represent commercial interests and advocacy)

The Sustainability Advisory Committee was established to assist Council in the formulation, prioritisation and implementation of strategies and initiatives to achieve sustainability as primarily set out in Sustainability Action Plan

The Bicycle Advisory Committee provides advice and recommendations to the General Manager on bicycle facilities throughout Lane Cove

If you are interested in becoming a Community or Business Representative, it is recommended that you review the relevant Charter/Constitution above, along with Council's Code of Conduct for Community Committee Members.

To nominate, please complete an online nomination form.  Alternatively, you can download and complete this nomination form, which is also available at our Customer Service Counter (48 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove) and at the Lane Cove Library (Library Walk, Lane Cove). This form must be submitted at Council's Customer Service Counter or via post (PO Box 20, Lane Cove NSW 1595) prior to the nomination deadline.

Nominations close Friday 23 March 2018.
