Council is a member of the World Health Organisation Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. Following community consultation, Council has prepared a second Strategy for an Age-Friendly Lane Cove that will continue its commitment to making Lane Cove a good place for older people to live, work and visit.
Council sought community comments on this Draft Plan to assist Council in finalising the 'Strategy for an Age-Friendly Lane Cove: 2018–2023 Action Plan'.

Comments received during the consultation period were used to assist Council in finalising the 'Strategy for an Age-Friendly Lane Cove: 2018–2023 Action Plan'. A post consultation report and final draft of the plan were prepared for the Ordinary Council meeting of 21 May 2018. Council resolved to adopt the revised Draft Strategy for an Age-Friendly Action Plan: 2018-2023, dated May 2018 and investigate the development of new methods to measure the Age-Friendliness of Lane Cove.
