Waste Collection Service

 

Council provides residential kerbside recycling and waste collection.

Residential households are provided with 1x 80L red general waste bin, 1x 120L yellow plastics recycling bin, 1x 120L blue paper and cardboard recycling bin and 1x 240L green vegetation bin.

A block of apartments is entitled to 1x 240L red general waste bin per three units, along with 1x 240L blue and 1x 240 yellow recycling bin per ten units.

Each household is also entitled to four free council clean-up collection services per year for bulky household items.

Customers can report a missed waste/recycling collection online or call the Waste Solutions Hotline on 1300 655 006.

​As of 1 July 2018, residents/commercial customers are required to pay for the replacement of waste, recycling and green waste bins, that have been lost or damaged as a result of misuse. To organise a replacement bin, please complete the below form and forward it with payment to Council. Applications for replacement bins will only be processed where payment has been completed.

Household Clean-Ups get sent to landfill. Try to rehome your unwanted items through free services such as gumtree or local charities. Some of your items may be eligible for free collection and rehoming through The Bower.

All application forms must be accompanied by a Credit Card Authorisation Form. Please download the form below to attach to your application.

Please note:

  • Please do not report missed services until after 3:00pm on the day of scheduled collection

  • Plastic bags placed outside bins will not be collected

  • Building materials will not be accepted in general waste bins

  • No bin will be collected if the lid is not closed. This refers to red, yellow, blue and green lidded bins

​Expire​d Flare Collection Program 

Roads and Maritime Services' expired marine flare collection program commences on 20 November 2020 and runs to 18 April 2021.

Find a collection point near you to safely dispose of your expired flares.

Most flares have a use-by date of three years and they must be replaced before this time. Flares contain explosive matter which makes safe and legal disposal difficult. This collection program provides the boating community with an opportunity to safely dispose of their out of date fares.

The closest collection point to Lane Cove Council is the Trunks Park Boat Ramp, Cammeray, with collections taking place on the following dates:

  • Monday, 30 November 2020, 15:30-17:30
  • Sunday, 17 January 2021, 15:30-17:30
  • Sunday, 18 April 2021, 15:30-17:30
