Traffic Changes for Lane Cove Village
This Consultation will run from 2 March – 12 April 2017
Ph: (02) 9911 3581
Council is considering road upgrades and parking changes within the Village area to cater for the additional traffic generated by Lane Cove's increasing population and the upcoming Rosenthal Avenue Car Park redevelopment.
The upgrades under consideration include:
1. The installation of traffic lights at the intersection of Burns Bay Road, Coxs Lane and Tambourine Bay Road which will result in the need to change access to/from Sutherland Street and impact on traffic through nearby Graham Street.
2. Making changes to Finlayson Street and Coxs Lane to improve traffic flow. This would include changes to the width of the road and/or parking arrangements to improve safety and ease congestion as more cars seek to connect to Epping Road.
3. A longer term project is to help provide better access to Epping Road via revisions to the traffic signals at the intersection with Coxs Lane. Although this is not an immediate task, Council is using the opportunity to consult with the community at this early stage to assist during the planning process.
To assist the community with understanding the options being proposed it is recommended that you view the Proposed Plans for Traffic Changes for Lane Cove Village 2017. Following Council's Information Session on 15 March a series of FAQs have been addressed:
Please note: the survey and proposed plans include an update to the dimensions for Option 5 – Changes to Coxs Lane (between Finlayson Street and Sutherland Street) made on 14 March 2017. This follows advice on 14 March 2017 that the design consultant had incorrectly calculated the amount of green space impacted by road widening options for 5b and 5c (view the notification to Council). This issue has now been addressed in all documentation and previous survey respondents have been contacted to provide them with the opportunity to update their response.
Surveys completed from 3:30pm Tuesday 14 March contain the updated information.
