Mindarie Park Update

The final two stages of Mindarie Park are set to open in May providing a variety of sports and play equipment. Along with stage one which features an all-inclusive playground, the park will provide 6300 square metres of open space.

Installation of a timber ropes obstacle course (pictured) and a rain garden are now complete. A multi-use games arena designed for five a-side soccer, basketball, netball and cricket training is due for completion in April.

The park will also include a large turf area, amphitheatre and performance area as well as two new picnic shelters, barbecues, bubblers and accessible picnic settings. Plants from Council’s endemic nursery will be planted to create a natural green buffer around the park and larger native trees were planted in February to provide shade.

A total of nine new off-street car spaces will be available along Kullah Parade which will replace the three existing on street car spots.

Stage one which included an all-inclusive playground following the “Everyone can Play” NSW guidelines was opened by member for Lane Cove Anthony Roberts MP on 23 February 2019.
