Meeting House Renewal Project

The Meeting House Redevelopment Project is a Lane Cove Council initiative. The Redevelopment was highlighted in Council's Major Projects Strategic Management Plan. Council's Social Plan also previously identified the continued need for Meeting House to provide improved neighbourhood services and listed as critical the need for further long day care for 0-2 year olds.

The redevelopment comprises: community meeting rooms and community kitchen facility; 40 place child care centre for 0-5 year olds; six residential units with a mix of two and three bedrooms. The new childcare facility effectively doubles the Centre's previous capacity by offering 40 places across three development groups. For the first time the centre will offer 0-2 year old placements.

The construction works are underway and are expected to be completed in September 2012 (weather permitting).

15 November 2011 update: The earthworks are well on the way and will continue for the next 3-4 weeks. Traffic control measures are in place to assist with the manoeuvring trucks in and out of the site. Dust suppression measures are also in place.
