Bushcare in Lane Cove West

 

Stoney Gully / Eco Garden

This group started mid-2005 and is helping to further develop the Eco Garden as well as undertaking bush regeneration in Stoney Gully , a weedy bushland area adjacent to the Eco Garden.

DETAILS:

Meets on the 4th Wednesday and 4th Saturday of alternate months:

4th Wednesday in February, April, June, August and October.

4th Saturday in March, May, July, September and November.
1.00 - 4.00pm
Meet at the Community Nursery entry on Lloyd Rees Drive, Lane Cove West (entry gate is adjacent to the Scout Hall).


Stringybark Creek

Our longest running Bushcare group, they have been working since 1994 and have seen some marvellous improvements to their Bushcare site. This group works along Stringybark Creek in some amazing bushland, ranging from the gully vegetation along the creek to open woodland on the higher slopes.

DETAILS:
Meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
9.00am – 12 noon
Meet at the bushland track entry from Merinda St (next to no 16), Lane Cove.


Penrose Street

This group, though small, have made some significant improvements to their site. Regeneration of native grasses has been encouraging in an area that has suffered from heavy weed infestation. It's a great place to work, with nice views of the Lane Cove River!

DETAILS:
Meets on the last Wednesday of the month.
9.30am – 11.30am
Meet in the bushland at the end of Penrose St, below no. 112.
