Please click here for the latest RMS (formerly RTA) news regarding child restraint laws.
Lane Cove Council promotes child passenger safety with a FREE child restraint checking session. The restraint checking session is designed to help parents and carers to choose and correctly fit and always use the best restraint for their child’s height and weight.

According to Council’s Road Safety Officer, child restraints are an important safety aspect to be considered. “Research funded by the Motor Accidents Authority (MAA) indicates that children well fitted in the correct restraint for their size were very well protected, even in severe crashes, and children in the rear seat sustained significantly less serious injuries than children in the front.”
RMS Authorised Restraint Fitting Stations are recommended for assistance with child restraints. For information phone the RMS on 13 22 13.
The
Lane Cove Road Safety Program provides a range of services for the
parents and carers of young children.
