Please be advised that the Double Demerits Points period for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holiday period, will apply from Thursday 24 December 2009 to Sunday 3 January 2010, inclusive.
Double Demerits will also apply to the Australia Day public holiday from, Friday 22 January to Tuesday 26 January 2010, inclusive.
So for example, this means if you as a driver are caught not wearing your seat belt you will loose 6 points and receive a fine for $243.
Double demerit points apply for speeding, seatbelt and motorcycle helmet offences.
