Council is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2020! We’re celebrating with new street flags on Longueville Road in April.
Lane Cove was officially declared a municipality in February 1895 and the first Council meeting was held April in a building which once stood on the site of Central Park on Kenneth Street in Longueville. To find out more about the history of Lane Cove, including the history of Lane Cove's Mayors, please visit Lane Cove's Local History.
We’re also marking the occasion with a special display in the Library showcasing interesting elements from the early years of Council.
Celebrations and activities will continue throughout the year. Follow Council on Facebook or visit our website for updates.
