The NSW Government is currently undertaking a comprehensive
review of the Impounding Act 1993 (the Act) and is seeking
feedback from individuals and organisations.
The Act enables councils to deal with the impacts of
abandoned items, such as shopping trolleys and vehicles, and stray animals.
A Discussion
Paper about the review of the Act has been released for public comment. The
Office of Local Government (OLG) is seeking feedback on whether the Act remains
effective for managing animals and other items left in public spaces. This
captures the impact of items like shopping trolleys, boat trailers, share
bikes, abandoned cars, e-scooters and wandering stock.
Please provide your feedback before 5:00pm on Friday 20 March.
