Locals celebrate Tree Day

Trees are a big part of Lane Cove life and on Sunday 2 August, Council's Bushland team celebrated National Tree Day with two groups of locals by planting 300 native seedlings in Riverview. A tree-rific morning was had by all. We’re pleased to share that Council’s Community Nursery has grown 8,781 plants in the past four months including providing nearly 1,000 plants to local schools for Schools Tree Day. Lane Cove West Public School, St. Michael’s Catholic Primary School and Mirrabrook Early Learning Centre were the lucky recipients of these new plants which were given away to students and their families or planted on-site including in a bush tucker garden.
