Temporary Mobile Phone Base Station
Council has been advised that Telstra propose to install a temporary Mobile Phone Base Station Telecommunication(s) Facility at the north western end of 266 Longueville Road on or about 7th September 2021 for a period of up to 9 months from commissioning.
This installation is possible on public land (which includes land owned by a local government) without consent under clause 43 of Schedule 3 to the Telecommunications Act 1997.
Telstra advise that the temporary facility is required at this location to provide mobile phone coverage and capacity while the existing mobile base station at 4 Northwood Road Lane Cove is being replaced. The proposed facility is exempt from Local Council planning schemes as it complies with Part 6A, Item 4 of the Telecommunications (Low-impact Facilities) Determination 2018. Council has been told the facility will comply with all ACMA EME regulatory arrangements.
Council will receive no remuneration for the use of the site and has no intention of permitting a permanent Mobile Phone Base Station Telecommunication(s) Facility on the site.
Telstra's contractor for these works is Service Stream Network Construction. Should you have any queries relating this installation, please direct your correspondence to planning.NSW@servicestream.com.au or 02 9087 3106.
If there are to be any outages, Telstra's customer service team will notify Telstra's customer's accordingly.
