Our Environment » Sustainability Lane at the Lane Cove Village Fair   Sunday 11 October 2009 10am to 5pm Located on Burns Bay Road (near Lane Cove Plaza) Sustainability Lane is Lane Cove's very own environment expo. Anyone who would like to learn more about how to make their home and lifestyle more sustainable should come along. See how small changes can have a big impact! This event is held in conjunction with the Lane Cove Village Fair, featuring craft, clothing and food stalls as well as rides and live entertainment.   EVENT VOLUNTEERS We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us make Sustainability Lane a clean, green and waste free event! If you have a couple of hours to spare on Sunday 11 October and would like to help out, then we would like to hear from you. Volunteers will be involved in a range of activities, such as improving recycling at the event and helping at bicycle parking stations. In return for your time you will receive a meal voucher for use on the day. Volunteers will be given an ‘Event Volunteer’ T-shirt to wear on the day. Training will be provided. Time Lane Cove Plaza Entertainment 9:00am Go Seek – High energy kids show with lots of singing and dancing 9:30am Recycling Olympics – A fun team event for the kids 10:00am Australian Wildlife Show – Experience native animals up close 11:00am Go Seek – High energy kids show with lots of singing and dancing 11:30am Launch of Lane Cove Council’s Sustainable Building Advice Program 12:00pm Lane Cove Concert Band 1:30pm Horns Plus – Local jazz band 2:30pm Rails End Ramblers – Acoustic guitar performance   There will also be sustainability workshops held all day as part of Sustainability Lane. Time Workshop Tent Program 10:30am Solar Power - An introduction to solar power with representatives from Australia Wide Solar, Green Solar Group and Solar Shop. 11:30am Growing Seedlings - An introduction to growing seedlings with Permaculture Sydney North. 1:00pm How to Change a Bicycle Tyre - Learn a basic skill that is essential for any bike rider. 1:30pm Solar Hot Water - An introduction to solar hot water with representatives from Endless Solar Operations.   TRANSPORT Leave the car at home when travelling to Sustainability Lane. A free shuttle bus service will be operating between 10am and 4pm, servicing three routes.
