Sustainability Lane

Sustainability Lane is held as part of the Lane Cove Village Fair, an established event in the Lane Cove community that attracts thousands of visitors every year. The Lane Cove Village Fair is organised by the Rotary Club of Lane Cove and features craft, clothing and food stalls as well as rides and live entertainment.

At our 2011 Sustainability Lane event on Sunday 9 October, Lane Cove Council hosted over 25 stalls filled with ideas for sustainable living. As part of the event, members of the public voted for the stall they thought was the best-dressed.

Congratulations to the winning stall, Permaculture North & PermaPatch Community Garden for their outstanding display:

The Runners Up were the Lane Cove Sustainability Action Group stall and Lane Cove Bushland Conservation Society stall.

In addition, Council  had their own tent featuring ideas, advice and free giveaway items to help our community live more sustainably. Free entertainment throughout the day included a wildlife show, a sustainable kitchen sideshow and street performers.

If you are interested in our 2012 event, please contact Council’s Waste and Environmental Education Officer on (02) 9911 3616.
