| Background |
Joined Lane Council in 1983, served four terms as Deputy
Mayor and was Mayor from 1994 to 1996.
Has been Vice-President
of the North Western Traffic and Town Planning Committee and
a member of both Northern Sydney and Inner Metropolitan Regional
Organisation of Councils.
Has been a member of
the LGA Executive from 1987 to 1989, 1991 to 1992 and from
1995 to 1996, serving as a member of the Planning Committee,
the Roads Committee and the Finance & Economic Development
Committee and Chairman of the Section 94 Working Party.
Was also a Commissioner
of the State Pollution Control Commission from 1988 to 1992
and a member (then Chairman) of the Town & Country Planning
Committee.
Is a Fellow of the
Institution of Engineers Australia and the Institute of Traffic
Planning and Management.
Has been Lane Cove
Council's representative on the Australian Mayoral Aviation
Committee and is Vice-Chairman of the Coalition of Councils
in their fight against the expansion of Sydney Airport. |
