Community Interests I have previously held positions on the committee as President and Treasurer for the Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce. Background I was born and raised in country NSW.  I also lived in Melbourne and Newcastle before moving to Sydney in 1988 where I have remained since. I moved to Lane Cove in 1996 as a resident with my wife before becoming a partner in Financial Services firm  in Lane Cove in 2001.  Being in business, our firm became a member of the Lane Cove Chamber of Commerce. Shortly after becoming a member I was then elected onto the executive as treasurer in 2002 and then President in 2006 resigning in 2008. The Chamber of Commerce was very active in the community particularly in relation to working with Council to get Woolworths in Lane Cove. The Chamber also was also responsible for projects such as Village Express, Sunset in the Plaza, Xmas in July and other community events. Why I stood for Council I first stood for council in 2004 because I believed that Woolworths would benefit both small business and the residents of Lane Cove. I stood again for council in 2008 because like many other residents was frustrated with the lack of car parking in Lane Cove and the decline of small business in Lane Cove. As a Liberal we support small business and understand that small business is the backbone to our community. Lane Cove needs facilities and infrastructure that support small business and meet the needs of its residents. I believe that with my skills and qualifications I able to contribute to the community to support small business and make Lane Cove the best place for residents to live.
