Lane Cove has a road network of around 110 kilometres. This network needs to provide safe and effective links to services, whilst also
meeting the commuting and travel needs of the many thousands of drivers that traverse through our suburbs on
a daily basis.
To manage this network, it is important
that Council has an effective strategic direction in place to make
sure the people that live in and visit the area are safe on the
roads. This direction has been documented in Start
Safe, Stay Safe, A Strategic Plan for Road Safety.
This plan focuses on achieving Council's main goal, to reduce the number of injury crashes that occur in our community by delivering effective and targeted road safety strategies and outcomes. Council recognises that it can not achieve this on its own, therefore the Plan outlines the importance of community involvement and partnerships in meeting the road safety challenge.
