The Lane Cove Village Structure Plan was finalised by Council on 15 December 2008.
The Structure Plan sets out a long term vision for how the village should
evolve over the next decades. The Structure Plan follows a process of community
consultation, background research and analysis. It is a comprehensive and holistic study of
the study area, which examines in detail aspects of its urban form and social activity.
The Structure Plan identified the values of the town centre and provides recommendations on
how these elements are to be retained and further strengthened. At the same time the
Structure Plan examines opportunities for growth and change of Lane Cove Village as a vital
people friendly urban area into the 21st century.
The Structure Plan offers broad ideas for the Village Centre to be environmentally sustainable, commercially successful and socially and culturally active.
