Agendas Council and Committee Meeting Times

Council Agendas are prepared and distributed on the Thursday prior to the each meeting. Council Minutes are prepared and distributed on the Thursday following each meeting.  These documents can be viewed online, at the Lane Cove Library or the Customer Service Counter at the Lane Cove Civic Centre. 

Extraordinary Meeting of Council

An extraordinary meeting of Council was held on Monday 4 November 2019.

Ordinary Meeting of Council  

​Council's next Ordinary Council Meeting will be held on Monday 18 November 2019.

Ordinary Council Meetings are generally held on the 3rd Monday of each month with the exception of January when there are no meetings scheduled and December where the meeting is usually held earlier in the month. A Council Meeting Schedule for 2019 has been adopted by Council.

Council meetings commence at 6.30pm if a Closed Session of Council is to be held. However, if members of the public are not interested in any business recommended by the General Manager to be considered in Closed Session, or if there is no such business, Council will ordinarily commence consideration of all other business at 7pm.

Meeting Procedure

Council's meetings are governed by a Code of Meeting Practice​, which outlines rules for submission of business items, attendance, debate and declaration of interest. For questions regarding meeting proceedings please contact the Manager - Governance on (02) 9911-3525.

Public Participation

Members of the public can address Council on any matter for a maximum of three (3) minutes during the Public Forum portion of Council meetings.

To speak at a public forum you must register your details with Council by 5:00pm on the day of the Council meeting at which you will be speaking.

You will need to provide and visual or audio material you would like to present to the Council at the public forum in support of your address by 12 noon on the day of the council meeting at which you will be speaking.

The Public Forum usually commence at 7pm. When addressing the meeting you must speak to the Chairperson, normally the Mayor. Councillors will generally not enter into debate with, or ask questions of speakers.

Venue

Meetings open to the public are held in the Lane Cove Council Chambers, located on the lower ground floor of the Lane Cove Civic Centre at 48 Longueville Road Lane Cove.
