Council worked closely with its community over a number of years on the development of a Comprehensive Local Environmental Plan (LEP) to guide land use decisions in the area. In light of a number of serious concerns raise in relation to rezoning the Mowbray Precinct for high density development Council demanded State Government Action.
Following discussions, the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (DoP), in collaboration with Council, commenced preparation of a joint technical strategic review of the Mowbray Road precinct. This collaborative effort allowed Council and the DoP to ensure that the most appropriate planning outcome is realised for the precinct.
