Christmas Tree of Joy

Share Christmas joy with those who are less fortunate by selecting a gift tag from the Tree of Joy. Donate your gift (unwrapped) at the Lane Cove Civic Centre and Library foyers. We appreciate your kindness and generosity, particularly in light of a challenging year.

Mystery Christmas Craft

From 1 December, Lane Cove Library, Greenwich Library and The Yarn Hunters Hill

Get into the Christmas spirit by making Christmas themed craft. Choose your mystery bag of festive delights from a range of craft bags for kids, young people and adults.

Drop by Lane Cove Plaza and you might be surprised by what you find! From music performances and entertainment to pop up activities and giveaways, start your Christmas fun early in Lane Cove Plaza!

Positive Life Talk 

Wednesday 1 December, 12:00pm - 1:00pm, online via Zoom

Come along and hear Natasha Lo and Peter Schlosser from Positive Life NSW talk about their story of resilience and tips on staying positive when it feels like your life is upside down. There will be time at the end to ask questions.

​Powerful Owl Season Update

Wednesday 1 December, 7:00pm - 8:00pm, online via Zoom

Join us for an owly update and see what our Sydney Basin Powerful Owls have been up to throughout 2021. Birdlife Australia will share the results of this latest breeding season and discuss the ongoing work on genetics and rodenticides as well as other challenges our urban owls are facing. Tune in for a great overview and discussion on our owls.

First Fridays: Christmas Origami

Join Lane Cove local Midori Furze this December to learn how to create some fun Christmas origami.

Make them as a gift for the family or to decorate your house in the Christmas spirit. This craft will have you excited for the magic of Christmas.

Bluey and Bingo are coming to Lane Cove!

Friday 3 December 2021, The Canopy, Lane Cove

Wackadoo! Bluey and her little sister Bingo are heading to Lane Cove on Friday 3 December – for real! Watch everyone's favourite Heeler in-person for smiles, dancing and plenty of flossing as we get ready for Christmas!

This is a free, ticketed event.

Session times: 3:00pm / 4:00pm / 5:00pm / 6:00pm

Capacity density limits apply and it is a condition of entry for people over 16 to provide proof of vaccination or medical exemption.

**Allocation for tickets to this event have now been exhausted following our second release to our waitlist. Due to COVID-19 density limits it is essential that attendees have a ticket to attend.

There is plenty taking place in Lane Cove Plaza from 3:30pm on Friday 3 December so if you weren't able to secure a ticket for Bluey, please stop by and enjoy some festive fun!

Live Music at The Canopy

Transitioning out of High School - Preparing young people for life after school

Tuesday 7 December, 7:00pm - 8:00pm, online via Zoom

Council will be hosting a transitioning out of high school evening webinar to support families through this transition period.

Guest speakers from the New South Wales Department of Education include; Joe Jimenez, Student Pathways Coordinator, Robert Lawson, Student Pathways Advisor and Beryl Ross, School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships.

The guest speakers will share their knowledge and resources with parents and families living and working within and surrounding the Lane Cove LGA in a one-hour webinar session on transitioning out of high school.
