Central park is a level-grassed park with a rose garden. It is bounded by William Edward Street and Kenneth Street, Longueville.
There is a tennis practice wall and five tennis courts are available at the adjoining Lane Cove Tennis Club.
The Central Park Angophora Costata (Also known as a Sydney Red Gum or Smooth Barked Apple) was removed in 2019 for public safety. It is thought to have been planted in the early 1900's. With no competition from surrounding trees it formed a unique beautiful spreading and contorted canopy.
Upon removal of the tree, Lane Cove Council worked with Timber Creations to turn some of the trees limbs into a sculpture.
You are welcome to sit, climb on and enjoy the tree sculpture.
