Street trees are valuable community assets, important to amenity and the cultural heritage of Lane Cove.  In response to community concern raised in relation to tree-trimming around powerlines, Council has been working with Ausgrid to develop a management plan for the Local Government Area.   A Draft Plan has been prepared which aims to ensure that local factors and priorities are considered prior to the implementation of necessary tree trimming programs.  The Draft Plan and Council’s background report on the Plan  are available below.

A Post Consultation Report was prepared for consideration at the Ordinary Council Meeting of 18 March 2019 where Council resolved to "adopt the amended Draft Local Government Area Plan – Vegetation Management Around Powerlines Lane Cove Council 2018 and submit to Ausgrid for final approval."
