The Project
Council are on a mission with OzHarvest to reduce the amount of food being thrown away from local businesses and, in doing so , also helping them reduce their waste disposal costs. A win – win for the community and the environment.
OzHarvest is a charitable organisation that picks up surplus food from retailers that would otherwise be thrown away. The food is distributed locally to charitable organisations including homeless shelters and assists many people that are less fortunate than ourselves or those that have fallen on hard times.
OzHarvest also makes a difference in reducing the amount of food waste that would otherwise go to landfill.
Council will be supporting the fantastic work OzHarvest is doing in Lane Cove by assisting our local food businesses to get involved in this very worthwhile and socially responsible program.
