Council has a range of planning controls that may apply to your proposal. It is essential that you determine how your proposal may be affected by these planning controls before you start designing your development. By checking which controls are relevant to your proposal, it may save you time and money in the design phase. These controls include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Lane Cove Local Environmental Plan 2009 provides controls for things such as building height, floor space ratio and heritage conservation.
The Lane Cove Development Control Plan 2010 accompanies the Lane Cove Local Environmental Plan 2009 and provides further detailed controls on matters such as building setbacks, car parking, storm water and bush land conservation.
During your review process you may find that your property is also affected by other special controls such as those imposed by the New South Wales State Government (e.g. State Environmental Planning Policies).
Some planning controls will be mapped. See Property Mapping for more detail on how to access available mapping.
Should you require further assistance, please call Council on 9911 3555 or email service@lanecove.nsw.gov.au to speak to a Town Planner.
