Australia’s favourite festival of reuse, the Garage Sale Trail, returns to Lane Cove this November. Happening online and in your community, it’s a month of money making, waste reducing, treasure hunting fun!
From unearthing the ultimate pre-loved gem at one of 10,000 garage sales to learning how to repair and repurpose your stuff, this November is all about caring for the planet and falling in love with your stuff again.
Made locally possible by the NSW EPA and Lane Cove Council, the festival encourages residents to sell, shop and learn about the circular economy.
You can sell online or in your community over two big weekends of garage sales, 11-12 and 18-19 November 2023. Pre-register here.
Council aims to help households divert more waste from landfill by supporting opportunities for residents to pass on items they may no longer need. Garage Sales are a great way to find unwanted items a new home, make some money and meet the neighbours. You can download a promotional poster to advertise, hints and tips for a successful day and price tags for easy labelling of items.
Goods booked through a Council Clean Up Collection are sent directly to landfill. Having a Garage Sale is a great way to reuse items and an opportunity to encourage your neighbours to also consider hosting a sale. If you have any items leftover that aren't suitable for donation to charity or recycling, please take your items inside until your Council Clean Up. For more information please contact the Waste Hotline on 1300 655 006.
