At a presentation ceremony on Wednesday 2 August, Mayor Andrew Zbik, announced recipients of $485,898 in grants to 14 organisations.
Not-for-profit organisations can apply each year for up to $10,000 to support one off projects and services that enhance the wellbeing of Lane Cove residents and the community.
Mayor Andrew Zbik said “Lane Cove has numerous community groups that are often supported by committed volunteers. The programs and ideas they foster are an important part of what makes Lane Cove a thriving, liveable community, and one with a heart.
“Supporting the activities of community groups that cater for all ages, and many different interests is central to the social purpose of Council. From a kindergarten to retirement units, to musical and artistic groups, these grants support activities that most residents can benefit from."
The grants are cash grants, and in some cases in kind support such as fees and charges waivers, depending on the circumstances and applications of the recipients.
