In preparation for construction of the Sport and Recreation Facility, seeds collected from trees at Lane Cove Golf Course will be added to Council's seed library to be grown at Council's Community Nursery which will then be planted back at the golf course in selected locations.
Using an elevated work platform, Council staff collected seeds from trees that will either be pruned or removed as part of the Sport and Recreation Facility build. All trees removed will be replaced.
Viable seed capsules collected from:
Syncarpia glomulifera
Eucalyptus botryiodes
Eucalyptus paniculata
Eucalyptus saligna
The team will return to collect seeds from Acmena smithii at a time when the seeds are viable for this species.
