Do you own a watercraft?

Watercraft Registration for a Dinghy, Canoe, Kayak and Stand up Paddleboard

Watercraft numbers are increasing across the Local Government Area and are sometimes stored on sensitive bushland areas or other inappropriate locations.

Watercraft, including dinghies, kayaks, SUPs, etc., that are stored along any of Council's public foreshore areas needed to be registered with Council by 31 March 2022 (this date had been extended from 31 December 2021 due to COVID restrictions).

Council has now started the process of removing abandoned watercraft from our foreshore and bushland areas.

If you require further assistance or are concerned that your watercraft has been removed, please call Council’s Open Space and Urban Services team on 9911 3555.

How to register your watercraft

Owners need to complete a Watercraft Tag Application Form and email it to

Registration is free.

A watercraft tag will then be issued and must be displayed on the watercraft.
