Children’s Voices for Reconciliation

Join us at The Canopy as we celebrate Reconciliation Week. School groups will perform their interpretation of this year’s theme ‘Be a Voice for Generations’. The event invites everyone to use their voice to share their truths among others. This event includes song, dance and art from local North Shore Schools. No booking required.

Imagine a house that grows its own food. That’s the vision of environmental campaigner Joost Bakker, who was once dubbed the ‘Poster Boy of Zero Waste Living’ by The New York Times. Be inspired by this documentary screening following Bakker as he builds a self-sustaining home in central Melbourne, followed by a panel. The panel will be guided by MC, Jo Taranto, founder of Good for the Hood. Speakers will be announced once confirmed. Bookings essential.

Walk and Yarning Circle

Leading up to Reconciliation Week, we take some time to reflect on the theme 'Be a Voice for Generations'.
Join us for a walk through Country and a Yarning Circle, a traditional way of dialogue and sharing cultural knowledge. Hear about local Aboriginal culture and heritage with Karen Smith from the Aboriginal Heritage office.
You are invited to ask your own questions about our shared histories and cultures and how we can all contribute to a reconciled Australia.

Nature’s awake while you’re asleep! Join us to learn about who’s awake in the night. We’ll read a book, discover nocturnal animals, go on a bushwalk and create night-time nature craft. For ages 2-5.

World Ocean's Day

This event will see us clean up creeks, parks, mangroves and bushland, all while enjoying a beautiful bushwalk. Clean-ups are a great way to bring the community together, raise awareness, and start the conversation about reducing litter at the source. This World Oceans Day make a difference and prevent our local waterways from carrying pollutants into the ocean, resulting in a cleaner, healthier environment.
The event will commence at Tambourine Bay Park and progress around the foreshore and bushland surroundings before returning to our starting location.

Discover Uno and his garden full of Moopaloops, Puddlebuts, Tumbletops and a Snortlepig! Graeme Base’s wonderful book, Uno’s Garden, is the inspiration for this activity. We’ll be reading from his book, going on a fun bush walk, practicing our counting and getting creative.

Child Car Seat Safety Checking Clinic
