Philip Cox and David Holm are architect-painters whose creative practices reflect a deep connection to the Australian landscape. Both are renowned architects whose built work engages with the natural environment, and this sensibility carries through into their art. Philip draws inspiration from the South Coast of New South Wales, while David is influenced by the Hawkesbury River.

Though each approaches the landscape differently, interpreting its textures, colours, patterns, and forms in their own unique ways. They share a common goal: to express the emotional resonance of the Australian environment.

Philip Cox has exhibited in both the Wynne and Sulman Prizes, and both he and David Holm have held numerous exhibitions showcasing their ongoing exploration of Australia’s diverse and powerful landscapes.
