Lane Cove Seed Library
What is the Seed Library?
The Seed Library encourages gardeners of all levels to share and grow plants while preserving biodiversity.
By providing free access to a variety of seeds, the Library empowers individuals, families, businesses and organisations to start or expand their gardens.
This initiative fosters sustainability, promotes education about gardening and seed saving, and creates a sense of community connection through shared resources and knowledge.
Available seed varieties include:
- Vegetables
- Herbs
- Australian natives
- Flowers
Borrowing Seeds
- Choose seeds from our collection and start your gardening journey! Each packet includes growing instructions to guide you.
- Two seed packets can be borrowed per month on an adult card. Please take to the front desk to be issued by Library staff.
- The full seed collection is available at Lane Cove Library, with smaller collections available at Greenwich Library and St Leonards Library.
Sow and Grow
Plant your seeds, care for them, and watch them thrive! Follow the provided instructions and enjoy the process. Borrow books or magazines to plan and support your garden. When your plants flourish, you are encouraged to save seeds from your healthiest ones and bring them back to share with others.
