Justice of The Peace

Council's Justice of the Peace (JP) service is a free service, and no bookings are required.

When: Monday to Friday between 12:00pm – 1:00pm

Where: Civic Centre - 48 Longueville Road, Lane Cove NSW 2066.

Due to the popularity of this service, you may need to queue to see a JP, please allow enough time for your visit.

 

A JP can:

  • Witness statutory declarations
  • Witness an affidavit
  • Certify true copies of original documents

 

What to bring:

  • Original documents
  • Photocopies for certification
  • For NSW statutory declarations, please bring photographic identification with you.
If you do not speak or read English, please bring an interpreter.

 

Please note, JPs are not available for:

  • Mortgages
  • Company registration
  • Guarantees
  • Wills
  • Power of Attorney
  • Proof of Life
  • Overseas documents

These documents should be taken to a Solicitor, a Notary Public or third party. Find a Notary.
