SSDs are assessed by (and lodged directly to) the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure {Department}, as opposed to Council which is the general planning pathway for Development Applications.
Accordingly, all relevant documents are uploaded on the NSW Government Major Projects page.
Residents are able to lodge a public submission in response to the exhibition period of the SSDs, this may include concerns with the uploaded documents or impacts resulting from the proposed development.
Council is also able to lodge a submission in response to the SEARs request (initial documents stage) and exhibition period where Council can provide a contextualised planning assessment against Council's controls, raise concerns with the documentation provided, raise concerns regarding impacts resulting from the proposed development and non-prejudiced conditions to protect the built and natural environment of Lane Cove (these are considered by the Department but may not be included in the final conditions of consent).
