Exciting News!

The Shorelink Libraries are excited to bring you a new, easier-to-use catalogue and Library system. The software upgrade is happening across the whole Shorelink Libraries Network, including Lane Cove, Greenwich, St Leonards, Mosman, Stanton (North Sydney) Libraries and The Yarn, Hunters Hill.

From Tuesday 29 September, you will have a simpler and more personalised way to search, discover and manage your library account. The new system will make it easier to:

  • Search for different formats of the same title - i.e Normal Print, Large Print, Audiobooks etc
  • Discover similar titles and staff recommendations
  • Manage your loans, holds and account details, including SMS notifications for when your holds are ready for collection
  • Create, save and share reading lists
  • Access the catalogue on your phone, tablet or computer

Key Dates

  • Now - Saturday 12 September: All operations running as normal
  • Sunday 13 September (from 5.00pm) - Monday 28 September: Our current system will go offline for the upgrade, including catalogue services and the Library app. Lane Cove Libraries (including The Yarn, Hunters Hill) will remain open for borrowing at the service desks. 
  • Tuesday 29 September: Your new catalogue launches!

What will happen during the upgrade?

During the upgrade period, the below services and technologies will be unavailable:

  • You will not be able to log in to your library account
  • The Lane Cove Libraries App will be unavailable
  • You will not be able to place or manage holds and there may be a delay in receiving your holds
  • Self-check machines and automated return shelves will not be available
  • Staff will have limited access to loan, hold and account information

The upgrade applies across all Shorelink Libraries, so these services will also be unavailable at Mosman and Stanton (North Sydney) Libraries.

We encourage you to return your items after the scheduled launch on Tuesday 29 September. We've extended loan periods so there is no rush to return your items and nothing will be due during the upgrade.
