Welcome to our Council Meeting wrap up for Lane Cove Council's Ordinary Meeting - 19 June 2025.

Council’s June meeting provided the opportunity to finalise a number of important strategic and operational plans ahead of the 2025/26 financial year.

A summary of the meeting includes:

  • Our future plans: Council adopted the revised Liveable Lane Cove 2035 Community Strategic Plan. This plan outlines a 10-year vision for Lane Cove as a connected, inclusive, sustainable community. It reflects extensive community feedback gathered through a range of community consultation processes in recent months and will now be delivered through Council’s supporting plans. This includes the 2025/26 Budget, Fees and Charges, Delivery Program and Operational Plan, Resourcing Strategy and Associated Resource Plans; all of which were adopted at the Council meeting.
  • Lane Cove Sport & Recreation Centre Tenders: The results of the Lane Cove Sport and Recreation Centre Tender processes were presented to Council. Council resolved to accept the Tender Evaluation Panel recommendation of Sydney Sports Management Group Pty Ltd (SSMG) for Facility Operation and Management (excluding food, beverage, and events) with additional actions to be undertaken in relation to finalisation of the contract. This includes a future report to the July Council workshop followed by the July Council meeting. Council resolved to decline to accept all tender submissions to the Selective Request for Tender for the Operation and Management for Food, Beverage, and Events at the Lane Cove Sport and Recreation Centre with a further report to come to the 21 August 2025 meeting of Council (or at an extraordinary meeting of Council before that date) outlining the options explored for operation and management of the Food, Beverage, and Events services at the Centre.
  • Community feedback: Council received reports on the outcome of a number of recent consultations and as a result adopted Council’s first ever Social Inclusion Strategy, first Gambling Harm Minimisation Policy and first Policy related to Councillor Meetings with Registered Lobbyists and Property Developers. There will also be the opportunity for the community to have their say on a number of items following their endorsement for public exhibition including the St Leonards South - Review of Section 7.11 Contributions as well as the revised Event Management Policy and Car Share Policy.
