Greenwich Hospital Redevelopment Underway
Published on 08 May 2025
Council is sharing some key information regarding the construction period of the Greenwich Hospital Redevelopment, which is currently underway.
Stage 1 works are currently focused on essential groundwork to upgrade utilities including power, water, and communications. The existing hospital remains fully operational throughout this phase, with plans in place to maintain pedestrian and vehicle access and minimise disruption for local residents, patients, and visitors.
Managing Impacts on the Community
To support the safety and wellbeing of the community during construction, several key management plans have been prepared:
- Pedestrian and Traffic Management Plan (PTMP): This plan outlines how pedestrian access, traffic movements, and vehicle safety will be managed during construction. The plan can be viewed here: Pedestrian and Traffic Management Plan
- Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan (CNVMP): This plan details how noise and vibration will be monitored and controlled to minimise impacts on surrounding properties. View the plan here: Construction Noise and Vibration Plan
- Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP): This document outlines measures to manage environmental risks such as dust, waste, water runoff and erosion during the project. It can be accessed here: Construction Environmental Management Plan
Council encourages residents to review these documents and reach out if they have any concerns or enquiries during the construction period.
Stage 1 of the redevelopment is expected to be completed by late 2025. When finished, the new Greenwich Health Campus will provide expanded specialised services for seniors and those with complex health needs, including palliative care, rehabilitation, dementia care, mental health services, and serviced seniors’ living with 24/7 health support — a first of its kind in NSW.
