Backyard Habitat Photo Competition

This competition closed in October. Prizes were awarded for the following categories:

• Wildlife habitat or fauna

• Wildflowers

• Native landscaping

Entrants were asked to snap a photo of their wildlife-friendly garden, balcony or courtyard to go in the running to win great prizes, including 1 of 3 beautiful copper bird baths from Mallee Designs and a selection of insect hotels. All ages and experience levels were welcome! This competition aimed to reward residents contributing to the creation of healthy wildlife corridors, whilst showcasing the beauty of native gardens to the broader community.

Old roof tiles, bricks and pavers provide excellent sunning positions for local lizards I Capture the afternoon light glinting through the Eucalypts I Prickly flowering shrubs offer food and shelter to small native birds I Marvel at the unique shapes of our Australian wildflowers as they bloom I Snap a photo of your favourite furry or feathered garden visitor I Search for tadpoles and dragonflies at the edge of your pond I
