Sustainability Rebates

Get started with your Sustainability Rebate application.

Council is excited to launch the Sustainability Rebates Program. The rebates are designed to incentivise residents and business to install sustainable technologies such as solar and EV charging, with stronger incentives for those facing larger upfront costs such as apartment complexes. The Program will build resilience within the Lane Cove community by reducing carbon emissions and reducing the impact of climate disruptions.

To access rebates, residents and businesses will need to obtain pre-approval, by providing documentation such as a quote and any approvals required by a landlord or strata committee. Then once the product is installed, a claim can be submitted with documentation such as tax invoice, receipt, and photos of the installation.

Solar Panels

Rebate for Rooftop Solar Panels:

  • House: 25% up to $500
  • Units (lot): 25% up to $1,000
  • Units (common area): 25% up to $5,000
  • Business: 25% up to $1,000

Step 2.Apply for Pre-Approval Application

Submit the quote for the Sustainability Product that you will purchase and a copy of your electricity or water bill. Once you receive notification of your pre-approval, you can proceed with your purchase, ensuring any required consents, strata or landlord approvals and/or licenses are in place.

Step 3.Purchase your Product

Ensure that your purchase is as per your pre-approval notification.

Step 4.Submit your Final Claim Application

Submit the required documents, such as an invoice and a photo of your installed Sustainability Product. 

Complete Final Claim Application

Step 5.Receive your Sustainability Rebate

If your applications are approved, you will receive your rebate via electronic bank transfer. You will receive notification of successful application via email. 

 

Solar Battery

Rebate for Solar Battery:

  • House: 10% up to $1,000
  • Unit (lot or common area): 10% up to $1,000
  • Business: 10% up to $1,000
