Lighting of the Christmas Tree & Bluey Live Christmas Experience 2025

The event happens across Lane Cove Plaza and The Canopy. 

In the Lane Cove Plaza we'll have music, dance performances, free craft activities, Santa photos and live art! At 8pm, the Mayor will officially light the giant Christmas tree to mark the start of the festive season.

Over at The Canopy, Wackadoo! Bluey and her little sister Bingo are heading to Lane Cove - for real life! Get ready to play Verandah Santa, Keepy Uppy and more. 

Important update due to heatwave forecasted: The show times have been moved back an hour to 5:00pm, 6:00pm & 7:00pm. No booking required, but we recommend you arrive early to grab a spot on the grass. We will also have marquees, umbrellas and misting fans at the event to try and keep everyone sun safe, as well as water bottles to keep everyone hydrated.

Lane Cove Plaza Program

Stalls include:

• Busy Bees Lane Cove are proudly sponsoring a free Christmas craft stall. Their team of Early Educators will lead festive activities for children aged 1–5. Families can enjoy bauble decorating, dough moulding, community art projects, Christmas Bee masks, and photo moments with the adorable Busy Bee Buzz.
• Artist Alex Cox paint a Christmas Beetle sculpture live from 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
• Lane Cove Gift Card Pop-Up from 4:00pm-7:30pm.
• Santa photos from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
• 3:30pm - DJ Nacho will be spinning tracks for the afternoon in between our amazing acts
• 5:45pm - Lane Cove Dance Academy — Ballet Group
• 6:00pm - Lane Cove Dance Academy — Contemporary Group
• 6:20pm - Adult Glee Club Choir — performance
• 6:40pm - Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra — performance
• 7:40pm - Ra Ra Lions mini lion dancing troupe performance
• 7:50pm - Mayor on stage for a short speech; prepares to walk to the tree for lighting
• 8:00pm - Christmas Tree is lit up!
