St Leonards Lunar Laneways

Join us for the inaugural St Leonards Lunar Laneways, a vibrant new twilight street party series celebrating Lunar New Year and the rich cultural diversity of our community.

The 2026 program, curated in partnership with the Korean Cultural Centre, will spotlight the traditions and contemporary energy of Korean culture through:

• Night markets and delicious food stalls
• Live performances including gugak music and K-pop
• Interactive workshops, cultural games and art installations
• Lanterns, light displays and immersive public art

Don’t worry, there will be plenty of other lunar traditions from across Asia too!

This free, family-friendly celebration will transform Canberra Avenue and Marshall Lane into a glowing festival hub beneath Wadanggari Park, just steps away from St Leonards Station.

Vinyl House

Soulful, warm covers of K-pop and contemporary Korean and non-Korean music

Zodiac Quartet

Zodiac is a collaborative four-piece band gathered from Sydney's vibrant music scene. The quartet featuring Jordan Chung (piano), Hinano Fujisaki (tenor saxophone), Sabine Tapia (double bass) and Manson Luk (drums), form to create a sound rich with passion and storytelling deeply inspired by their Asian-Australian experiences.

Turntablist and DJ from Korea fusing a diverse range of global sounds in her DJ sets

Clipped Karaoke

This karaoke experience hosted by CLIPPED is a unique activation merging inclusive public performance with contemporary live video art. For the St Leonards Lunar Laneway event they’ll have a library of Kpop and Korean music favourites and will be hosting a Kpop Demon Hunters Singalong

Jeonghee Jang 

Jeonghee Jang is a Sydney-based Korean dance artist who is trained in and teaches traditional and contemporary Korean dance.

We'll also be featuring Toulim, a traditional music and dance (samulnori and gugak) team and we'll have roving and stage performances from the H.I.M.I K-pop dance crew!

 How to get to the event 

Car parking is limited around the area, so we recommend taking public transport into the event site - which is across the road from St Leonard's train station.

It's also around the corner from the northbound buses (towards Lane Cove) bus stop C on the Pacific Highway.

If you do drive, there is a limited amount of free parking at the St Leonards Central Carpark underneath Mall 88. This carpark can be accessed through Christie Street, and Christie lane.
